Whether you're local to Los Angeles or are planning a visit in the not-too-disant future, perhaps you should mark this event down in your calendar. The Petersen Automotive Museum is hosting a Ferrari cruise-in in honor of Enzo Ferrari's birthday. You bring a camera, they'll provide coffee, pastries, and prancing horses. Boom.

Kinja'd!!!

"Enjoy strolling through rows of Italian works of art, or bring your own and join in the fun! Free parking and 2 for 1 admission for classic cars & VIP parking for all Ferraris from 9:00 am-noon. Free coffee and pastries for all!"

I just checked the distance from Vancouver, BC to the Peterson Museum.

2000+ kms

Doable.

i've done that drive myself!
(though i broke it up into a few days, BUT... I ended up doing from Portland straight to Los Angeles in about 17 hours!)

Holy smokes, that's one hell of a drive. How did you manage?

I've attempted to go Vancouver, BC to Redding, CA (aka the town with the nearest I-N-Out burger joint to Canada) but had to cancel last minute due to severe snow storms in Oregon.

I'm planning on taking the Porsche from Vancouver to San Francisco in the early summertime. Unfortunately I'll have to miss out on this Peterson Museum because, you guessed it, snow in Oregon!

okay, i didn't do it entirely by myself... my buddy and I traded driving shifts.

I never take for granted how lucky I am to have In-N-Out so close by. it has to be in the top 1o California tourist attractions/visiting motivation. maybe i'll go have one for lunch in a bit...

The Ferrari Cruise-In should be pretty good, but if you're going to be in the state in summer then you might as well visit the Ferrari Concorso in Pasadena (every May). 3 city blocks packed with Ferrari's!

Sounds like a plan (both the In-N-Out for lunch and the Ferrari Concorso).

As a side note, I love car shows/events/meets that feature moving cars. The Festival of Speed at Goodwood is the epitime of what every car show should be like. A hillclimb racetrack that features vintage racers to concept cars all trying to set fastest times twice per day, a paddock accessible to all, and brushing shoulders with racing legends.

I agree about the moving cars - the sights, sounds, and smells are part of the experience! That's exactly why I've made it a ritual to arrive to the second half of the Ferrari Concorso, so that I can be front and center when they order all drivers to start their engines and clear the street promptly at 3 pm. You haven't lived until you have an F40 and a 365 GTB fire up right in front of you on the same day. Pure aural nirvana...

I did the same thing at the grandaddy of all west coast shows: the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Goodwood is on my bucket list for sure...

Fantastic plan. Show up late, catch all the action. Enjoy this year's Concorso, I'm sad I wont be there. Unless flights to LA are cheap for the Canadian "Family Day" long weekend. (Jan 10th).
